Welcome to Punkish Delight

Hey everyone.

Thanks for coming by here. But I suppose you all probably wanna know what this place is all about, right?!

Well basically, years ago the name was invented (that’s a different story) and the concept was that it would have to do something with music. So I thought maybe a shop, I’ve not quite got around to that yet. (Yeah, I know, one more person that hasn’t achieved all of their dreams yet.) I got bought the domain many years ago and since have kept renewing it but never bothered really putting any content here. I thought it was about time I added something.

So here is my “Punkzine” Although my music takes me a lot further than just punk, but it’s alternative mostly and you never know you might even learn a thing or too about me.

I have no idea if this site will ever take off, and to tell you the truth I don’t think it will, but there’s always hope right. If it does get successful then I might open it up so other people can share their latest views on current releases etc.

For now, Enjoy what is already on the site, and keep rocking.

Bozo x

Bonsai Kitten!!

Yeah you probably think I’ve gone a little mad and this will just be a rant about some kittens shoved into a jar. I also read somewhere that bonsa-kittens.com was the most hated website in the world and was removed. Shocking as the site was, I’m sure it was just a joke.

So Bonsai Kitten… What can I say, when of the greatest bands I’ve heard recently.

They describe themselves as “Killbilly” I guess that fits them quite nicely, they’re also pretty punk. Now that’s always a good mix if you ask me, and as I guess you’re here you are asking me.

They come from Germany, you would honestly think that Germany was the home of Pshychobilly and killbilly, I’m told under good authority that it’s not the case, which pleases me cos the same source (wikipedia) say that the birth was in England.

Shit me, please stop me going off topic.

Atomic Kitten have three Albums:

  • Bonsai Kitten (2007)
  • Done With Hell (2011)
  • Welcome To My World (2012)

Their albums are released by Wolverine Records, and their cover of “poison”, originally by Alice Cooper appears on “Punk Chartbusters: Wolverine Bands”

It was their cover of  “poison” that I first heard on the affore mentioned punk chartbusters album and well what through my mind was quite amazing, it’s good, I thought, really good. It gave me a feeling that sadly I’ve lacked recently. I starts with a dirty version of the opening riff of the classic Cooper song, before kicking off on a fast billy riff.

Then IT happens

Tiger Lilly Marleen starts singing, it’s raw, dirty and sexy. A real pick up. She has the voice that makes you feel like shagging her right there and then, I didn’t know what she looked like, but her voice was hypnotic, she got me wanting her, lusting after her like a zombie lusts after blood. (What is it with me and zombies at the moment?!)You should see her too… In fact if you clicked on that link I just left then you’re probably not reading this.
The band is Female fronted (I think you worked that out) by Tiger Lilly Marleen with Hajo-Sun on guitar, Alexx DeLarge on drums and Krczycz on doublebass. The band started in 2005. Tiger Lilly has been in a few other bands, apparently she wanted something different and Bonsai Kittens better be where she stayed.

I bought “Done with Hell” and “Welcome to my world” and if you are looking for fast, punky psychobilly that is truly a joy to listen to, that captivates you, puts you in one of the best moods you’ve been in for a while then you should check them out.

Once I’ve listened to their albums a bit more than I’ll also post a breakdown of the album. For now you will have to do with this overview of the band and this link -> http://www.bonsai-kitten.de/band/

Enjoy. Peace out. Bozo
